Descriptions of the Measures
Cost Efficiency 2 - Chipseal Resurfacing (Cost & Avg Life)
The total cost and life achieved of chipseal resurfacing undertaken over the selected Financial Year.
Chipseal resurfacing should be timed to minimise whole-of-life cost while delivering the required customer outcomes. This measure provides information that can assist with demonstrating the extent to which this has been achieved.
This measure shows the total cost and life achieved of chipseal resurfacing for your network, Peer Group , Region and the Nation . The cost is represented per lane kilometres over the previous year. From 2018/19 onward, the measure will only include costs allocated to work category 212. The life achieved is the average age of surfaces that were resurfaced over the previous four years.
The surface data is taken from the Surface Structure table which is being filtered by:
Surface Material - Chipseal
Surface Function - Reseal and Second Coat
Surface Structure Set - Top Surface
Surface Sectioning - by Road Section
The Original Cost is recorded on the {Road Section Surface} record in the Road Section Surface table and is apportioned by length for the Seal record in the Surface Structure table.
The Lane Kilometres are assumed to be the length of the Seal * number of lanes from the Road Section.
If the Sealed Area is recorded then this will be used. The Sealed Area may or may not reflect the Width or Length of the {Road Section}. If the Sealed Area is not recorded, then it will be assumed that the Seal is for the full width of the Road Section and the Area of the Seal will be calculated from the Seal Length * Road Section Width.
The classifications come from the Road Section table and ONRC Category table.
The data is grouped by Financial Year beginning 1 July.
